A new one from Arcade Fire, released just last month, Everything Now is getting some attention, both good and bad. It’s very different from their other albums. I guess those who wanted more of the same are not enamored with it. But what did you expect from this band? Others swear it’s brilliant. I can’t say it’s my favorite Arcade Fire album, but it’s growing on me. And in fairness, it took time for me to realize the genius of The Suburbs. The album was produced by Thomas Bangalter and Steve Mackey, the former having worked with Daft Punk. There are elements of synth-pop, new wave, or even — dare I say it — disco — but in a good way. 😉 My favorite track right now is “Signs of Life.” Love the title cut “Everything Now” and the Daft-Punkish “Creature Comfort” as well. Give it a spin. (Is that still a thing?)
